From plain text to copy-and-paste lettering
- Enter a name, short bio or message. The results update as you type; the Hello example lets you compare styles before adding your own words.
- Browse Classic, Lettering or Decorated styles. Uppercase, lowercase and numbers do not have equivalent characters in every Unicode alphabet, so some digits remain ordinary text.
- Choose Copy next to a result, then paste it into your destination. Check the pasted version there: a preview here cannot guarantee that another app accepts or displays it.
What changes, and what stays the same
These are Unicode characters, not font files. A supported letter is replaced with a different character; unmapped text stays as you typed it. The table below describes this tool’s actual behavior.
| Input | What to expect |
|---|---|
| English letters A–Z and a–z | Mapped in the 15 lettering styles. Small caps use approximate letter shapes, including ordinary q and x. |
| Numbers 0–9 | Styled where the alphabet has matching digits; otherwise unchanged. Circled zero uses ⓪. |
| Chinese, accented letters, emoji and line breaks | Preserved rather than translated. Underline and strikethrough add marks only to English letters and digits; frames wrap the whole message. |
Check before using fancy text in a profile
Decorative text can work in social bios, posts or game display names, but each platform sets its own rules. Some reject special characters, count them differently or show missing-glyph boxes. Paste a short sample first and keep a plain-text version of any important name, link or instruction.
A few useful answers
Is this fancy text generator free?
Yes. All 20 styles are free to preview and copy without an account. Conversion runs locally; this tool does not send your entered text to a server or store it for later.
Are cursive and gothic text actual fonts?
No. The generator substitutes Unicode symbols that resemble cursive, gothic or bold letters. Unlike a CSS font change, the symbols travel with copied text, but their exact appearance still depends on the destination’s available fonts.
Why does some text look unchanged?
Unicode does not provide every style for every language. This tool maps English letters and selected digits, leaving Chinese, precomposed accented letters and emoji unchanged. It does not translate text or generate custom glyphs.
Why does the Copy button not work?
Your browser may block clipboard access or require a secure connection. If automatic copying fails, the tool selects the result so you can use Ctrl+C, Command+C or your phone’s selection menu. You can also focus any result and copy it manually.
Is decorative text accessible to everyone?
Not reliably. Screen readers may announce mathematical symbols instead of words, and search or translation tools may treat them differently. Use ordinary text for essential information, long passages and accessible labels; keep fancy text as optional decoration.
Character reference
The lettering styles draw on Unicode’s Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols and related character blocks. Their original purpose is not to provide interchangeable fonts for every language.
